Julian Chang, CIMC Raffles
Mr. Tomlin operates a private investment banking business, Tomlin & Company, Inc., and through affiliates such as Belmoro Corporate Advisors, LLC has provided merger and acquisition advisory service for more than $5 billion of transactions in the last few years to companies in the print and electronic media arena. Tomlin interests also include a venture capital investment company that provides capital to start up and early stage, technology related businesses.
Mr. Tomlin has developed over 6,000 multi-family housing units in US resort areas valued at over $700 million. In addition, he has significant experience with syndicated bank loans and bond issues. As the lead investor, Tomlin interests have provided the capital for the development of the City of Ayrsley, in Southwest Charlotte, North Carolina, and for Park West, a 1,600(+) acre mixed-use community in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. With his brother Pat Tomlin, Don developed Lake Carolina, a 1,600(+) acre mixed-used development in Columbia, South Carolina.
Mr. Tomlin is married to Rachelle Boyer Tomlin and has three young children.
Dean is an active advocate for ocean preservation. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation. He has previously served on the advisory committee of the Pew Institute of Ocean Science and the School of Ocean Science at Nova Southeastern University. An avid sports fisherman and diver, he is keenly aware of the crises faced by the oceans today.
Dean has a history of philanthropic involvement. He serves on the Planned Giving Council at the University of Miami. He has previously served on the Boards of Trustees of the Historical Museum of Southern Florida and Plymouth Congregational Church and has been a mentor at the University of Miami. Dean served in the U.S. Army obtaining the rank of Captain.
Dean is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Wharton School of Business. He resides with his wife, Christy Starr Klevan, in Coconut Grove, Florida.
Through charitable events and private donors, Mr. Gilbert has raised more than $10 million for various international programs, including numerous coral reef research and preservation projects through the Museum of Oceanography in Monaco and the Rosenstiel School at the University of Miami. He created the Bal de la Mer, an annual marine conservation fundraiser held each year in Monaco under the High Patronage of the ruling Grimaldi Royal Family. Mr. Gilbert also established the SeaKeeper Award, an annual award in recognition for lifetime achievement in the field of marine conservation. In 2006, Mr. Gilbert received the prestigious Leadership Award from the International Superyacht Society.
Julian Chang, Executive Director of CIMC Raffles Offshore Limited (CIMC Raffles), has been elected to the Board of Directors of the International Seakeepers Society. Mr. Chang operates CIMC Raffles, a socially responsible and environmentally focused offshore builder of yachts and large offshore vessels. Chang is based in Raffles’ main office in Singapore and will be instrumental in spreading SeaKeepers mission to the regions’ yachting industry, scientists, and policy makers.
Additionally, Mr. Cobb is a trustee for Florida Gulf Coast University, America’s fastest growing collegiate educational institution. He is also one of the founders of the Naples Children and Education Foundation and a former chairman. In 2002, Gulfshore Life Magazine named him “Man of The Year”. For his civic endeavors, Mr. Cobb was named Philanthropist of the Year on National Philanthropy Day in Southwest Florida in 2004. Mr. Cobb is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, an honorary business fraternity, and was a Jaycees Outstanding Young Man of The Year.
Brian and his wife Denise were named the 2004 "Philanthropists of the Year" by the Community Foundation of Collier County.
With a background in PR/Advertising and Graphic Design, Patty has developed an expertise in non-profit Special Events and Fundraising Development. As a member of the EW Scripps Associates and the SIO Director's Circle in San Diego, and long-time Birch Aquarium supporter, along with her husband who serves on their Advisory Board, Ms. Elkus has been named to the Director's Cabinet of Scripps Institution of Oceanography by Director Tony Haymet. Patty looks forward to contributing to the synergy between the International SeaKeepers Society and SIO in their joint initiative, the Coastal Monitoring Project.
Mr. Shaw is a passionate and accomplished fisherman, scuba and free diver who cruises extensively in Asian Pacific waters aboard his yacht SeaShaw. He has held several free diving fishing records.
