Board President, Jim Gilbert, Receives Prestigious Leadership Award

Jim Gilbert, Founding Editor In Chief of ShowBoats International and Board President of the International SeaKeepers Society, was the recent recipient of the International Superyacht Society's prestigious Leadership Award, sponsored by The Robb Report. This award honors an individual or company whose distinctive work and commitment to the industry has contributed to the growth of the superyacht community worldwide. Gilbert generously accepted the award on behalf of the membership of the SeaKeepers Society:

I am honored to accept this award on behalf of the more than 100 Founders, Members and Partners of the International SeaKeepers Society who are making such an important contribution to increasing mankind’s understanding of what’s happening to the sea. As SeaKeepers they are saying: We see clearly that the seas are in catastrophic decline. And we also see that the only way we’re going to develop the solutions we so desperately need is to find out what’s really going on in the oceans. They’re also saying that for the 2.5 million years of human existence, the sea has nourished us, provided us with food, safety, protection, transportation, oxygen and spiritual renewal, and that for the countless souls who have walked before us. We are the first generation to whom the sea is turning and saying, ‘Help me before its too late!’
