BECOME A SEAKEEPER

You can help support the International SeaKeepers Society in building a global effort to help restore an protect the world’s oceans. Members of the Society recognize the ocean’s critical importance to the life of our planet and are deeply committed to finding real-world solutions to the problems now plaguing our seas.

Consider joining as a Founder or other leadership level. If that is not within your means, we would appreciate any financial support – every contribution makes an impact.  Our annual budget is $1.5 million, which covers the development and support of our SeaKeeper 1000 monitoring system, as well as administration and fundraising efforts.

As a nonprofit, we are in a position to work with scientists, governments, academia, and industry, as well as the public on select issues.  We are proud that our efficiency and agility allow us to respond more effectively than many larger institutions. Of course, the contacts and resources of our members often make the difference, allowing us greater impact than our modest membership and budget would normally allow. Join Today!

MEMBERSHIPS LEVELS

Founding Member/1-Star Admiral $50,000+
Founding members make a one-time contribution of $50,000. Founders enjoy a great sense of purpose and fellowship by joining other international leaders in directly providing the resources needed to continue our global effort in restoring and preserving the health of the world's oceans. (As an option, Founders may contribute an additional $25,000 toward the installation of a SeaKeeper 1000 ocean monitoring system on their vessel, another ship, coastal pier, buoy or lighthouse of their choosing).

Admiral's Club 250,000+
Admiral’s Club members are part of an elite group recognized as our most generous of benefactors. Members opting to provide substantial funding toward this international effort can reach a 2-star Admiral's Club level by contributing $250,000; higher levels are achieved through greater donations. The SeaKeeper 1000™ ocean monitoring system will also be installed on a vessel, another ship, coastal pier, buoy or lighthouse of the member’s choosing.  Admiral's Club members are individually recognized and invited to exclusive social or scientific functions.

Yacht Partner $25,000
On an invitation-only basis, the Society has opened its membership to the leading builders and suppliers to the luxury yacht industry. Yacht Partners agree to assist the Society in recruiting their clients to join SeaKeepers and to work with the organization develop intimate fundraising events.

Associate $25,000
Individuals and corporations who support the scientific work, educational outreach programs and leadership of the Society, can contribute to the advancement of our important mission by joining as an Associate member.

Friend of SeaKeepers $2,500
Friends of SeaKeepers are individuals who annually support our international effort to restore and protect the world’s oceans. Friends not only help financially, but through referrals and other resources.

Create and seize opportunities with friends, the media, leaders of industry and politicians to discuss the plight of the ocean, it’s importance and the need for action now! 11 Critical Issues is a way to get started.

In the USA we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization . Our accountants are Pinchasik, Strongin, Muskat, Stein & Company PA and our financials are available upon request.

Registrations as a charitable organization in other countries are in process. The International SeaKeepers Society is the result of an initiative by global business leaders disturbed by the deterioration in the health of the oceans. SeaKeepers’ significant contributions provide the funding to aid development, testing and deployment of the patented SeaKeeper 1000 technology and to support other projects contributing toward long-term ocean conservation.

It is a curious situation that the sea, from which life first arose, should now be threatened by the activities of one form of that life. But the sea, though changed in a sinister way, will continue to exist; the threat is rather to life itself.

The Sea Around Us

Recipe for making a single gallon of petroleum: Cook 100 tons of marine phytoplankton at 212-275°F under great pressure for a few million years. It is now believed that all the world’s petroleum reserves were created by plankton, not terrestrial plants. Consider how much plankton the oceans have produced over time to create the world’s oil reserves. (Newsletter SBI 2007)
