THE INTERNATIONAL SEAKEEPERS SOCIETY ANNOUNCES MEGA-YACHT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM

Monaco (September 2006) – The International SeaKeepers Society will host a press conference on Friday, September 22 at 4:00 p.m. CET to introduce its new Yacht Builder Partnership Program, whose initial membership includes Oceanco, Feadship, Lürssen, Christensen Yachts, Delta Marine, Trinity Yachts and Benetti.

Yacht builders can join SeaKeepers as Yacht Partners for a $25,000 fee and will work with the Society by introducing their clients to Society membership. In exchange, Yacht Partners use the SeaKeeper Partner logo in their advertising and marketing and participate in social functions. The partnership also encourages fellowship between yachtsmen.

“This is a win-win-win program,” explains SeaKeepers’ Board President Jim Gilbert. “It’s impossible for us to meet the most important yacht owners in the world without the help of the major yacht manufacturers. These companies have an enormous stake in healthy oceans as the very basis for their business success. Being able to meet their clients and introduce them to our members is great for the Society, great for our new partners and fosters precisely the kind of yachting camaraderie that SeaKeepers has become famous for.”

In addition to this announcement, there will be an official check presentation to CIESM (The Mediterranean Science Commission) for funds raised at the Bal de la Mer. Hosted annually by ShowBoats International magazine, and organized under the patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, who is also the Commission’s president, the Bal de la Mer benefits both the SeaKeepers Society and CIESM.

Expected to be present are members of the press and industry, as well as CIESM and SeaKeepers’ representatives, Founders and Yacht Partners.

        Date:       Friday, September 22, 2006

        Time:       4:00 p.m. CET

Location:  Hotel Port Palace, Vue Salle Restaurant, 7 Avenue John F Kennedy, 98000 Monte-Carlo, Monaco

The International SeaKeepers Society
Founded at the Monaco Rendezvous in 1998, the International SeaKeepers Society was begun by a small group of yacht owners who horrified by the deteriorating health of the waters they had grown to know and love. Their original mission was to develop an ocean monitoring system to collect data to provide scientists with a clearer picture of what is happening in the sea. In eight years its Founders have grown to a network of international leaders representing 14 countries.

The SeaKeepers Society aims to be a global catalyst working with governments, scientists, industry, and other marine organizations to promote knowledge and to support sensible, achievable marine protection and restoration initiatives. The development of the automated SeaKeeper 1000TM ocean and meteorological monitoring system is the first of many projects. The SK1000 is now deployed in some 50 locations around the world, including yachts, cruise ships, ferry boats, buoys and piers. It is endorsed by the United Nations, the World Meteorological Organization, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, NOAA and the U.S. National Weather Service.

The International SeaKeepers Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, registered in the United States. Registrations as a charitable organization in other countries are in proce
