SeaKeepers Professionals
Working together to restore and protect the World's Oceans

Charitable events for SeaKeepers Professionals will be hosted throughout the year. There is no doubt that these events will be fun, but held for a very worthy cause as well.  Proceeds raised from these events will be used to install a SeaKeeper 1000™ oceanographic and atmospheric monitoring system – donated on behalf of yacht crew - to select research organizations around the globe. The first system funded by SeaKeepers Professionals is being deployed in the Fort Lauderdale Inlet in collaboration with the Oceanographic Center of Nova Southeastern University.

To sustain an environment suitable for man, we must fight on a thousand battlegrounds. Despite all our wealth and knowledge, we cannot create a redwood forest, a wild river, or a gleaming seashore.

Recipe for making a single gallon of petroleum: Cook 100 tons of marine phytoplankton at 212-275°F under great pressure for a few million years. It is now believed that all the world’s petroleum reserves were created by plankton, not terrestrial plants. Consider how much plankton the oceans have produced over time to create the world’s oil reserves. (Newsletter SBI 2007)
