Captains Advisory Council: Officers, Programs
SeaKeepers is proud to announce its 2009-2010 Captains Advisory Council (CAC) and officers. The Captains Advisory Council members assist with various functions of SeaKeepers Professionals, advise on issues involving the professional side of yachting, and serve as representatives to further the communication of SeaKeepers message, mission and goals.
This year’s focus will be to continue to generate awareness for the ocean’s crisis. The CAC will assist in developing the Society’s message in a variety of media outlets. It will also continue to explore and solidify a relationship with Reef Check, develop guidelines for the onboard “environmental officer,” and create a unique online program to match traveling yachts with scientists in need of deep ocean equipment drop-offs or pick-ups.
“The Captains Advisory Council is a huge resource for us,” said Chairman of the board Michael T. Moore. “The Council develops and implements ideas to integrate yachts, crew and industry. Not only are they deeply involved in the industry, they have a particular concern for the health of the world’s oceans. We are grateful for their time and attention to SeaKeepers.”
