SOCIETY STORIES
Fabulous Festive 11th Founders Dinner
Fort Lauderdale - October 2009
For the 11th consecutive year, leading SeaKeeper members and their guests celebrated their annual
Founders Dinner at the start of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. A highlight of the night was
the presentation of a stunning glass sculpture to Admiral’s Club member Lee Anderson in thanks and recognition of his commitment to SeaKeepers and his extraordinary service to the Society as Board Chairman. Additionally, John Englander, former CEO and now Chairman of the Society’s distinguished Scientific Advisory Council, was recognized for his productive and successful 6-year tenure as CEO. Englander, who is currently writing a book exploring the possibility of, and impact from, rising sea levels due to climate change, was presented with an exquisite copy of the “big book” Superyacht in recognition of his service.
SeaKeepers owes sincere gratitude to Founding Members Doug and Linda Von Allmen for hosting the elegant evening at their magnificent private residence, and a special thanks to the generosity of sponsors Marsh, Graff USA and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, whose support made the joyous evening possible.
