Captains, Crew, Yacht Owners & Industry Meet in Mallorca to Celebrate the Sea
Fort Lauderdale. FL (June 30, 2009) – Several dozen captains and crew, joined by yacht owners and industry leaders, enjoyed a relaxed, moonlit evening at SeaKeepers’ Sunday Cocktails on June 21, just prior to the Future of the Superyacht conference and Superyacht Cup 2009. Hosted by SeaKeepers’ Chairman of the Board Michael T. Moore, with local assistance provided by Fraser Yachts’ CEO Hein Velema, guests gathered at the charming waterfront restaurant Woody Mare in the yachting mecca of Palma de Mallorca to celebrate the beauty if the oceans and generate awareness for the mission of International SeaKeepers Society.

Members of the not-for-profit International SeaKeepers Society and SeaKeepers Professionals believe that the greatest way to protect the sea is by providing the best possible information to the scientists and resource managers who will ultimately guide humanity in the years ahead. “Industry concern for sustainable and healthy oceans is at an all-time high,” stated Chairman Michael T. Moore, whose company, Moore & Co., PA, generously sponsored the event. “The SeaKeeper 1000 monitoring system offers an incredible opportunity to essentially turn private yachts into research vessels that contribute vast amounts of urgently needed information to the global scientific community. We are very proud of this innovative network we have created.”

The propriety SeaKeeper1000™ oceanographic, atmospheric and climate monitoring system, deployed on nearly 60 yachts and other platforms worldwide, produces extraordinary quantities of highly accurate data on ocean, weather and, therefore climate, conditions and automatically transmits this information to the scientific community worldwide.
