The Work
Our primary initiative is the DISCOVERY Programme, connecting generous vessel owners around the world with scientists and educators in need of time at sea.
The Impact
Since 2015, hundreds of scientists, students, vessel owners, and volunteers have conducted ocean research and helped raise awareness of global conservation issues.
Your Role
We welcome vessel owners, scientists, educators, and anyone determined to protect our seas and play a role in the future wellbeing of our planet.

SeaKeepers Asia Key Initiatives
Asia Marine Education Program
Give your students the opportunity to dive into marine science through SeaKeepers Asia’s Floating Classroom program at Marina at Keppel Bay, focusing on coral conservation and the surrounding ecosystems. In addition to hands-on experiences, SeaKeepers offers digital lesson plans and in-person classroom visits to prepare students for their marine exploration. If you’re an educator interested in bringing this unique experience to your students, submit an educational request form today!
Ocean Summits & Asia Events
SeaKeepers Asia hosts events such as The Ocean Collective Summit (TOCS) and SeaKeepers Asia Galas, bringing together experts, advocates, and leaders in ocean conservation. These gatherings offer a chance to listen to insights from those working to protect our oceans, discuss challenges, and share ideas for action. By participating, you’ll be part of an ongoing conversation about how we can collectively support and improve ocean conservation efforts.
A Green Guide to Boating: Best Practices for Southeast Asia
A Green Guide to Boating offers eco-friendly tips for recreational yachts and vessels navigating South Asia. It covers sustainable practices like waste disposal, fuel efficiency, and protecting marine ecosystems, helping you enjoy the waters while minimizing environmental impact. Follow these guidelines to preserve the region’s natural beauty and support ocean conservation.
Citizen Science in Asia: Advancing Ocean Research
Join the Citizen Science movement in Asia by participating in projects like installing a data logger for Seabed 2030 or towing a net to support the Neuston Net Research Collective (NNRC). By engaging with these initiatives, you’ll help gather critical data that advances our understanding of the ocean floor and its ecosystems. Become a part of this global effort through the Asia Chapter to make a lasting impact on ocean conservation.
SeaKeepers Asia: Preserving the Sundarbans
Nestled in the heart of Bangladesh, the Sundarbans is a sanctuary of extraordinary biodiversity, home to unique species and vital ecosystems. As part of SeaKeepers Asia’s commitment to marine conservation, our Bangladesh office focuses on protecting this fragile environment. Support our efforts by getting involved in conservation initiatives that help safeguard the Sundarbans and its surrounding waters for future generations. Your contribution can make a real difference in preserving one of the world’s most important natural habitats.

FOUR PILLARS
Uniting vessel owners with scientific, academic, and educational communities around the world to expand marine protection and awareness
What is the DISCOVERY Fleet?
These are private vessels whose owners offer time and space onboard for research missions. Participation ranges from data collection to hosting scientists, educators, and artists at sea.
The program accepts vessels of any size, and owners can receive tax benefits in addition to recognition through SeaKeepers events, newsletters, and the website.
Since 2014, the DISCOVERY Fleet has engaged over 200 vessels in scientific expeditions around the world.
The fleet provides marine scientists with a cost-effective research platform so they can allocate more resources toward their conservation initiatives.
Vessel owners and their crews have the opportunity to apply their unique potential toward advancing marine science and raising awareness of ocean conservation issues.

Get to Know SeaKeepers
Our initiatives unite a diverse range of stakeholders, including scientists, academic institutions, government agencies, concerned citizens, and private and commercial vessel owners, all collaborating on ocean conservation and awareness.
Vessel owners and captains
The cost of going to sea is the limiting factor for many scientists and educators. Private boat owners therefore have a unique opportunity to directly contribute to ocean conservation by offering their vessels as research platforms.
The benefits are mutual, and the owner’s scientific interests are considered when pairing them with an expedition. The vessel owners’ resources and expertise enable more scientists to get out on the water, while guests and crew have the opportunity to participate in meaningful research with influential marine scientists. More
Scientists
Experts in marine science perform groundbreaking research across all five oceans from aboard our DISCOVERY Fleet vessels. Successful proposals are paired with vessels that match the expedition’s needs, including vessel size and type, location, and itinerary. More
Alongside formal expeditions, citizen scientists play a major role: Vessel owners, captains, crews, and guests all have an opportunity to get involved in smaller-scale research initiatives. These include marine wildlife observation, instrument deployment, data collection, water sampling, and many other fascinating and worthwhile activities.
Educators
Providing students with hands-on marine science experiences is essential for building awareness and ensuring Earth’s future wellbeing. Teachers can access our free ocean conservation educational resources, including marine biology field trips, classroom and online lessons, lesson plans, and other activities.
Also, our professional development training allows educators to take their experiences back to their classrooms and share valuable insights with their students. Click here to explore adding marine conservation to your curriculum.
Volunteers
Volunteers and interns gain essential experience by being directly involved with SeaKeepers activities at sea and on land. These include K-12 educational programs, beach cleanups, scientific seminars, and yachting industry events.
Volunteers also play an essential role in SeaKeepers own social events, which include some of the most influential members of the yachting and ocean conservation communities.
