The International SeaKeepers Society is proud to have attended the 2025 Australian Coral Reef Society Conference in Townsville, Australia. At this conference, we learned more about Citizen Science initiatives in the region including current Citizen Science collaborations “Citizens of the Reef” (an underwater photography based project on the Great Barrier Reef) and “Coral Watch” (a global observation-based project which documents coral bleaching). As global reports are compiled to help establish current coral reef extent and bleaching patterns, we are keeping an eye on data from these projects to see just how our DISCOVERY Fleet is contributing. This week was full of cutting edge research and inspirational messages from leaders in the field of coral restoration and ecology. We can’t wait to sea how SeaKeepers data can continue to make a global impact.
