Yacht donations go towards scientific expeditions, citizen science, educational outreach events and community engagement. SeaKeepers will facilitate the yacht donation process from working out the paperwork to picking up the boat. SeaKeepers will accept responsibility for the vessel “as is, where is.” Donating your vessel can immediately eliminate your ownership cost and considerably reduce your income tax burden. SeaKeepers recommends that yacht/boat owners considering making a donation first consult their tax advisor.

Yacht Donation Program Webinar

The International SeaKeepers Society host a series of high-level introduction to the Yacht Donation Program Webinar throughout the year. Speakers include Steve Rizzone, Dick Seidenspinner, Tony Gilbert, and Michael T. Moore from the SeaKeepers’ Donation Team. Guest speakers, Norm LeBlanc and George Gallup from Global Yacht Appraisals and John Gaffney from YachtSafe Global have co-hosted webinars to cover topics that allow brokers to understand:

  • The yacht donation process and the benefits donors, end-users and brokers experience along the way.
  • How donations go toward scientific expeditions, citizen science, educational outreach events and community engagement.
  • The importance of yacht appraisals, the steps to take and market versus replacement value.
  • Tax, domestic and international considerations to take when partaking in yacht donations.
