Had a great time and learned lots . Food was great. Only thing I was surprised any was getting a polyester shirt give away, knowing that these aren’t great for the environment. Maybe they are made from recycled plastic?

It was a great experience! I have learned a lot and now have some new resources that I can use in my classroom. I loved the hands on activities and being able to learn from the amazing educators

The workshop was excellent. One thing that could be integrated is some more matauranga Māori into the programme

This was an awesome opportunity to meet other educators in this space and hear about their programmes. I feel Seakeepers are very supportive in the educational space and hope there will be many opportunities in the future where we can collaborate to help improve our programme within school and community groups. I feel it would be beneficial to have representation from each region with people on the ground to help with sharing relevant local marine content to the educators and conservation efforts and citizen science that is a strong focus of Seakeepers. It would be ideal to have more focus or speakers and knowledge of Te Reo and Matauranga Maori in the teachers programme that can be taken back to the classroom.

Without SeaKeepers we simply wouldn’t have been able to complete the testing of our coral shading tool. Our team is doing all we can to think innovatively about ways to protect South Florida’s coral reefs, but without the ability to acutally test our ideas, we’d be dead in the water! We’re so grateful for SeaKeepers and all they stand for!

It is always a pleasure working with the SeaKeepers team. Having been on several expeditions with them over the last couple years, I always look forward to it. They are professional, organized, enthusiastic, and willing to help anywhere when in the field. They are a fantastic resource to researchers by reducing costs and providing an absolutely essential service to marine field work – vessels.

I’ve had the privilege of working alongside SeaKeepers since 2018, and they have consistently served as a force multiplier in my research, by dramatically expanding what we’re able to achieve – and the impact we can have through our work. Their team of project managers and coordinators are all skilled ocean professionals who thrive in collaborative, mission-driven environments. With their ability to coordinate and provide vessels, SeaKeepers is among the strongest assets to the marine science community. It’s no surprise that some of our most significant discoveries have happened in partnership with SeaKeepers’ expeditions.

“Just a quick note to say thank you so, so much to Tom Petersen of DISCOVERY Yacht Valkyrie, for coming all the way to our location and for the incredible support on an amazing platform. We got a lot of great science done and enabled a lot of young people to learn new things at the same time. Hugely appreciated and we hope just the start of ongoing partnerships. And thanks so much Tony as well for coming all the way out and for setting this up with us – go SeaKeepers!!!”
