Had a great time and learned lots . Food was great. Only thing I was surprised any was getting a polyester shirt give away, knowing that these aren’t great for the environment. Maybe they are made from recycled plastic?

This was an awesome opportunity to meet other educators in this space and hear about their programmes. I feel Seakeepers are very supportive in the educational space and hope there will be many opportunities in the future where we can collaborate to help improve our programme within school and community groups. I feel it would be beneficial to have representation from each region with people on the ground to help with sharing relevant local marine content to the educators and conservation efforts and citizen science that is a strong focus of Seakeepers. It would be ideal to have more focus or speakers and knowledge of Te Reo and Matauranga Maori in the teachers programme that can be taken back to the classroom.

Without SeaKeepers we simply wouldn’t have been able to complete the testing of our coral shading tool. Our team is doing all we can to think innovatively about ways to protect South Florida’s coral reefs, but without the ability to acutally test our ideas, we’d be dead in the water!
