Project Overview

On January 13th, 2026, The International SeaKeepers Society hosted our first virtual lesson of the year with Lux et Veritas Homeschool Group. With 18 incredible students present, our Educational Outreach team Jack, Lillian, and Soline led our fifth interactive presentation into South Florida’s coastal habitats. We explored numerous traits of each ecosystem such as location, distribution, services, and threats. Our students were able to expand upon every detail with questions pertaining to how runoff affects nutrient pollution and the benefit of keystone species in kelp forests. Throughout the lesson our students were able to continuously flex their knowledge on our coastal ecosystems, what they provide, and all the animals that call it home. We want to give a huge thank you to the ever-curious students and educators of the Lux et Veritas Homeschool Group and look forward to more collaborations in the new year!
