Clean the Beat Miami Music Week Cleanup

On Friday, March 27th, 2026 The International SeaKeepers Society partnered with Bye Bye Plastic and Plastic Fisherman to host our Clean the Beat Cleanup in honor of Miami Music Week at Watson Island Park. Fueling Bye Bye Plastic’s mission of removing single use plastics from the music industry, there could not be a more perfect time to give back to our South Florida community. After a quick safety briefing 35 volunteers set out around the park in search of trash sorting out glass bottles, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and specifically hard plastics. In partnership with Plastic Fisherman, our color-coded hard plastics will be transformed into plastic planks and eventually into community benches, giving way to new recycling methods. Our volunteers returned with endless trash including several fishing roads and even a kayak paddle. In just under an hour our volunteers collected over 250 pounds of trash. We are continuously thankful and proud of volunteers for their commitment, as well as all our partner organizations who made this event possible!
