SeaKeepers Mission Giving – Make It Count
Support one of SeaKeepers’ four program pillars and direct 100% of your donation to the initiative you choose. You can also allocate your gift to a specific SeaKeepers chapter – the United States, United Kingdom, South Pacific, or Asia – with clear reporting on how every dollar is used. Our streamlined donation process is transparent and designed to give you full control over your impact.
This is a strong CSR and ESG pathway for companies. Contributions are fully traceable, aligned with defined program outcomes, and supported by verifiable reporting. Â
Explore the programs below to see current funding needs and progress, then choose your pillar and donate in a few simple steps.
Scientist-Led Expeditions
Unlocking scientists’ access to the ocean through a global network of privately owned vessels.
SeaKeepers connects scientists with a global fleet of more than 200 privately owned DISCOVERY Yachts, enabling research in places that are often too remote, costly, or logistically complex to reach.
These expeditions generate vital data on climate change, coral reef resilience, marine biodiversity, and ecosystem health. In 2025, 47 expeditions delivered more than 200 days of research across the U.S., Brazil, Indonesia, the Galápagos, and beyond.
With your support, scientists can go further, study more, and deliver the data needed to better understand and protect our ocean.
What Your Gift Enables
A contribution to Scientist-Led Expeditions delivers immediate, measurable impact.
- US$200–$500 helps cover fuel or essential operating costs for vessel owners who donate their time but need support to get an expedition underway.
- US$1,000–$2,500 contributes to staff travel, lodging, and meals (when not provided onboard), ensuring SeaKeepers personnel can accompany and support fieldwork.
- US$3,000–$5,000 funds the full logistical cost of one expedition, enabling world-class researchers to conduct critical at-sea fieldwork.
- US$10,000 supports multiple research days across different regions, expanding studies on climate, coral reefs, sharks, manta rays, and ocean biodiversity.
100% of your donation goes directly to mission delivery, and you’ll receive
a clear report showing exactly which expedition you supported, what research was completed, and what outcomes were achieved.

Citizen Science
Enabling anyone, anywhere, to contribute directly to marine research and ocean conservation.
We give citizens the tools to take part in ocean research with no scientific background required. Training enables them to collect samples, deploy simple instruments, record wildlife observations, and contribute to global datasets that support marine science and conservation.
From coastal waters to remote expeditions, these contributions expand the reach of ocean research through active participation, wildlife observation, and marine cleanups. This global network turns time spent on or near the water into meaningful scientific contribution.
While participation is free, many projects require funding to launch. Your support will cover equipment, shipping, training, and data processing.
What Your Gift Enables
- US$100–$300 covers shipping, calibration, or replacement parts for small instruments used by participating vessels.
- US$500–$1,500 supports project enrollment fees or data-processing costs for global initiatives such as eDNA analysis, coral reef health assessments, or cetacean-sighting networks.
- US$2,500–$5,000 funds a full season of Citizen Science participation for a cluster of vessels within a single region (e.g., UK, NZ, Singapore, or Asia).
- US$10,000–$15,000 underwrites an entire chapter’s annual Citizen Science program - covering equipment, shipping, onboarding, and data support for dozens of participating boaters.
100% of your donation goes directly to mission delivery, and you’ll receive
a clear report showing which projects you supported, what data was collected, and how it strengthened global marine science.

Educational Outreach
Bringing ocean science into classrooms, and young learners onto the water, through hands-on experiences.
SeaKeepers connects students, teachers, and communities to marine science through immersive, experiential education. Programs include Floating Classrooms aboard DISCOVERY Yachts, school-based workshops, educator training, and youth leadership opportunities designed to make ocean science accessible and engaging.
Students learn by doing – collecting water quality data, studying biodiversity, and analyzing real environmental conditions alongside marine experts. All lesson plans, digital resources, and educator materials are provided free of charge.
Your support funds educational materials and scientific equipment, supports educator training and student scholarships, vessel access, student scholarships, and curriculum development.
What Your Gift Enables
- US$100–$300 supplies physical materials for student activities, including water-quality kits, ID guides, worksheets, and field gear.
- US$500–$1,000 funds a school-based workshop, bringing expert-led marine science sessions directly into classrooms.
- US$1,000–$2,500 supports Floating Classroom delivery, including boat time, equipment, and materials for a full student cohort.
- US$5,000–$7,000 underwrites a full year of educational activities for one of our chapters, enabling multiple community sessions and new curriculum development.
- US$10,000–$20,000 funds a full program cycle of one of our chapters’ Junior SeaKeepers Programs, empowering young leaders with training, fieldwork, and project mentorship.

Community Engagement
Mobilizing communities worldwide to take hands-on action for ocean conservation.
SeaKeepers brings people together through coastal cleanups, public workshops, panel discussions, and participation in marine and yachting events – making ocean conservation accessible to all, not just vessel owners.
Since 2018, more than 285 cleanup events have engaged over 9,000 volunteers and removed 36,500+ pounds of marine debris from shorelines worldwide. These efforts are paired with community outreach at festivals, conferences, and local events to raise awareness and inspire everyday action for the ocean.
Your support helps fund cleanup supplies, disposal and logistics costs, outreach and presentation materials, volunteer resources, and community events that inspire hands-on ocean conservation.
What Your Gift Enables
A contribution to Community Engagement supports the delivery of coastal cleanups, public outreach events, workshops, and conservation activities by funding the equipment, materials, staffing, and coordination required to engage communities in hands-on ocean action.
- US$100–$300 provides gloves, bags, tools, and safety gear for coastal cleanup volunteers.
- US$300–$800 supports staff attendance and materials for public engagement events.
- US$1,000–$2,500 funds multiple cleanups or conservation activities
that engage communities in hands-on action.
- US$3,000–$5,000 supports a full year of Community Engagement programming, enabling more cleanups, more events, and broader public reach.
- US$10,000+ expands Community Engagement capacity, allowing SeaKeepers to activate major public-facing conservation initiatives.
