Everglades University PAC Event

On April 29th, 2026, The International SeaKeepers Society was invited to participate in Everglades University’s biannual Program Advisory Committee (PAC). This event is aimed to align the university’s academic programs with the corresponding industry needs. Our day began with a short presentation from Vice President Debra Cohen and Dean of Academic Affairs Jason Zingariello introducing the university along with their program operations. EU offers a multitude of Bachelors and Masters programs geared towards specific growing local industries such as construction, business, marine resource management, and more. We then proceeded into industry specific breakout rooms to discuss associated curriculum, textbooks, required courses, and mostly importantly to address any program gaps. Speaking to current professors and students within the program our team was able to give current insight and advice into SeaKeepers as well as our field as marine biologists. We wanted to give a huge thank you to Lily Ellefson and EU for a stimulating afternoon and hope to collaborate with them again soon!
