FathomVerse
Project Overview:
Using advanced imaging technology and artificial intelligence, researchers can now capture huge amounts of underwater imagery from around the world. But AI systems still rely on people to help train and improve them. That’s where FathomVerse comes in.
FathomVerse is an interactive community science platform where users, known as “FathomNauts,” help scientists analyze real ocean images collected by researchers and underwater robots. Through engaging mini-games and challenges, players help identify and classify marine life, improving the AI tools scientists use to study the ocean.
Every action taken in the app helps researchers process data faster, expand ocean discovery efforts, and deepen our understanding of marine ecosystems worldwide.
