Junior SeaKeepers 2025-26 Workshop 1: Intro to the Scientific Method

On Monday, October 20, 2025, The International SeaKeepers Society hosted its first workshop of the Junior SeaKeepers 2025-26 cohort. This workshop aimed at personal and professional development for students ahead of the year-long program, allowing them to dip their toes in use of the scientific method to conduct and present quality research. We started the workshop by discussing the purpose and origins of the scientific method, and why it is the standard for conducting scientific research. Using specific examples from staff and previous cohorts, our students were able to get a glimpse of the skills needed to build their end of year research projects. These skills will be developed further throughout our many webinars and workshops as they collect the tools needed throughout their academic careers. We are beyond excited for the many adventures ahead!
