A FREE RESOURCE SUPPORTING CLEAN MARINA PROGRAMS AND RESPONSIBLE BOATING PRACTICES
MIAMI, FL – March 17, 2026 – The International SeaKeepers Society has released the International
Green Guide to Boating, a free educational resource designed to help recreational boaters adopt
simple practices that protect waterways while improving vessel performance and efficiency.
Developed in collaboration with marine industry professionals and environmental experts, the guide
provides practical guidance on topics such as responsible fueling, waste management, fuel
efficiency, eco-friendly products, and spill prevention. The goal is to make environmentally
responsible boating practices accessible and easy to implement for boat owners and operators.
“Many of the practices that protect our waterways also improve vessel efficiency and safety,” said
Aubri Keith, Program Development Manager at The International SeaKeepers Society. “The Green
Guide provides straightforward, practical guidance that boaters can apply every time they head out
on the water.”
The guide aligns closely with the goals of Clean Marina programs, which promote responsible
boating practices and pollution prevention at marinas across the United States. By sharing the
Green Guide with their boating communities, marinas can provide boaters with additional tools to
help maintain clean and healthy waterways.
Marinas are encouraged to share the guide with their boating communities through newsletters,
dock signage, and boater education programs.
The International Green Guide to Boating is
available as a free digital download.
Boat owners, marina operators, and boating
organizations can access the guide:

ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL SEAKEEPERS SOCIETY
The International SeaKeepers Society is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organisation that facilitates
oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting
community. Providing educational resources and hands-on marine science experiences to students
is the primary focus for ensuring the wellbeing of our planet. SeaKeepers enables the yachting
community to take full advantage of their unique potential to advance marine sciences and raise
awareness about global ocean issues.
Founded in Monaco in 1998, The International SeaKeepers Society has been supporting ocean
conservation through direct involvement with the yachting community for more than twenty-seven
years. What started as a data collection program aboard select luxury yachts, has evolved to engage
thousands of participants annually with at-sea and coastal programming. Today SeaKeepers’
mission is focused on the DISCOVERY Programme which is comprised of Scientist-Led Expeditions,
Citizen Science, Educational Outreach, and Community Engagement.
As a catalyst working with governments, scientists, institutions, and other marine organizations to
further its mission, SeaKeepers supports sensible, achievable marine protection and restoration.
Activities take place globally through the efforts of headquarters based in the United States with
offices located on the east and west coast, and international representation in Singapore, the South
Pacific, and the United Kingdom.
