SeaKeepers collected water samples for the ASC Global Microplastics Project aboard D/Y Final Final out of Delray Beach, FL. Water samples were collected from two locations in the Intracoastal waterway. Microplastics—or plastic particles smaller than five millimeters in size–likely pose a massive environmental and human health risk when they enter our waterways. The samples collected will become part of a comprehensive microplastics dataset that will be used to effect change, turning off the inputs of the microplastic pollution at their source.
