Beach Cleanup with FTL Beach Cleanup

On Saturday, March 11th, 2023, The International SeaKeepers Society supported FTL Beach Cleanup by The Local Octopus to clean Ft. Lauderdale Beach in front of B Ocean Hotel. While the “Dig the Beach” beach volleyball series was underway, 60 volunteers from the Ft. Lauderdale community joined to clear away 87 pounds of trash from the beach. Volunteers also assisted SeaKeepers in sorting the trash collected as it was being brought in; with buckets for aluminum and cans, glass bottles, plastics, plastic bags, and cigarette butts. SeaKeepers loved participating in this cleanup and are wishing The Local Octopus the best while they pursue 501(c)(3) status!
