- April 15, 2026
- London, United Kingdom
Event Overview
On April 15, 2026, The International SeaKeepers Society attended a crew briefing at the Little Ship Club in London ahead of the Conquer the Island Race. Crew were partnered with expert skippers, including SeaKeepers Ambassador Mike Golding MBE and Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, founder of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. Sir Robin Knox-Johnston Adventures were allocated to two of the race boats. Participants were introduced to the Eyesea project and shown how to log marine pollution sightings to support the development of the world’s largest pollution database. Race kits were distributed and preparations were made for a weekend of competitive sailing.
The International SeaKeepers Society attended the briefing to engage participants in ocean conservation through the DISCOVERY Programme. The session provided an opportunity for Little Ship Club members to get involved in citizen science and understand how simple actions at sea can contribute to global research. SeaKeepers would like to thank Prometheus Sailing, the Little Ship Club, Mike Golding Yacht Racing, and Sunsail for their support. The organisation looks forward to continuing collaboration to advance ocean conservation through the sailing community.
