Helping Hands Dive II: Laguna Redang Island Resort

The International SeaKeepers Society Asia partnered with Laguna Redang Island Resort and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) to protect coral reefs on Redang Island, Terengganu, Malaysia. The mission was to move 200 coral nubbins from the Laguna Redang Island Resort coral nursery to a sheltered area at Pasir Akar within the Redang Island Marine Park. This coral nursery was set up as part of a two-year rehabilitation program by the resort, led by UMT’s Dr. James Tan, to restore the degraded reef in areas of the island.
