International Junior SeaKeepers Showcase at Film Festival

Beyond the classroom and research vessels, SeaKeepers Asia connects communities through vibrant festivals, competitions, events, and partnerships that bring ocean conservation to life. On 2 November 2025, a student team—Kathleen, Joshua, David, and Isabelle—part of the first intake of the International Junior SeaKeepers Programme 2025—showcased their science communication video at the Earth In Focus Film Festival. Their project explored a compelling hypothesis: coastal areas in Singapore with more public education signage on marine conservation tend to have less visible litter.

As Singapore’s largest environmental film festival, Earth In Focus celebrates the natural world through powerful films, photography, and art, inspiring meaningful dialogue and action.

In 2025 alone, SeaKeepers Asia led 13 community engagement initiatives, demonstrating how creativity, innovation, and conservation go hand in hand. From youth-led presentations to maritime outreach events, each initiative fosters collaboration and empowers communities to protect our oceans for future generations.
