Reversh Tashlich Cleanup 2025
- September 28, 2025
- Miami, Florida

Event Overview
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, The International SeaKeepers Society partnered with Hillel at Florida International University for a beach cleanup at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park. During the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah, there is a symbolic casting of sins into the water, a ritual that was turned into action at the cleanup by removing trash from our waterways! We were joined by 65 volunteers at the park who participated in a prayer before grabbing their gloves, pickers, buckets and bags to set out on the beach and throughout the park to remove debris. Despite taking place a week after a large cleanup, our volunteers managed to remove more than 42 pounds of trash from the park, including glass bottles, aluminum cans, and lots of hard and soft plastics. Thank you to FIU Hillel for partnering with us and to the team at Historic Virginia Key Beach Park for hosting us!
