Event Overview

From October 4 – 6 , 2025 , SeaKeepers Asia attended the first Coral Catch Conference on Gili Air, Indonesia.

In 2021, Coral Catch launched a pilot programme to train eight Indonesian women in coral restoration. The International SeaKeepers Society, Asia, a long-time supporter and platinum sponsor of the Coral Catch programme, is honoured to support its growth.
Thanks to the dedication and generosity of sponsors, Coral Catch has deployed artificial reef structures, advanced critical research, and fostered a strong community of “Superwomen” leading ocean conservation.

Over nine weeks, participants complete 54 scientific dives across 12 research methods, gaining both technical expertise and confidence. Today, 80% of Coral Catch alumni remain active in the field, demonstrating the programme’s lasting impact and its role in creating meaningful career pathways for women in marine science.

The first Coral Catch first conference on Gili Air, bringing together 85 participants from around the world. Designed as a space for connection and collaboration, the event featured discussions, storytelling, and knowledge-sharing, while also setting bold goals for the future—including plans to deploy 1,000 artificial reef structures and train 100 women in marine conservation diving.

Coral Catch is more than a programme—it is a growing movement shaping the future of ocean conservation through women’s leadership
