SeaKeepers at the Biscayne Bay Marine Health Summit 2026

On May 20, 2026, The International SeaKeepers Society attended the Biscayne Bay Marine Health Summit in Miami, Florida. This yearly event organized by the Biscayne Bay Marine Health Coalition sees a vast array of professionals in not just the marine world, but those of local Floridian government, academic institutions, and other non-governmental or nonprofit organizations in Miami gather for a day spent learning about the multitude of efforts being made to improve our interaction with Biscayne Bay. Our programming team heard from several professional panels hosted by leaders from all over South Florida, spoke and networked with students, professors, and other researchers conducting work in Biscayne Bay, and sat in on several sessions of breakout rooms to acquaint ourselves with the ongoing projects in need of support. Our team learned a lot about research, public opinion and sentiment, and governmental efforts to protect, restore, and promote healthy engagement in the Bay. We give an immense thank you to the team at the Biscayne Bay Marine Health Summit for hosting such a fun and informative event, and we look forward to attending again in future years as well as putting what we learned into action!
