Event Overview

On January 24, 2026, The International SeaKeepers Society attended Boot Düsseldorf in Düsseldorf, Germany, for the third year running, marking SeaKeepers’ first major show of 2026. The event welcomed representatives from more than 100 countries and is recognised as one of the world’s largest yacht and watersports fairs. The Blue Innovation Dock is regarded as a leading European platform – it brings together political decision-makers, industry leaders, innovators, and water sports enthusiasts to help shape the future of the maritime sector. SeaKeepers Director of International Relations, Gill Rodrigues, joined Dr Udo Engelhardt (University of Queensland), Lisa Picatto (JPI Oceans), Kristin Recke (Wissenschafts) and Steffen Knodt (RWTH Aachen University) for a panel discussion at the Blue Innovation Dock titled “Harnessing collective knowledge: Inspiring citizen science initiatives”. Here, Gill spoke about the extensive offerings available to participants through SeaKeepers Citizen Science programme, and how oceangoers can actively play a part in advancing ocean conservation.. The session aligned with wider conversations at Boot Düsseldorf, which focussed on collective action, ocean stewardship, and the responsibility of the global boating community to support scientific research. SeaKeepers also joined DISCOVERY Programme partner Pantaenius at their stands in Halls 7 and 10 to explore opportunities for the year ahead.

The International SeaKeepers Society attended Boot Düsseldorf 2026 to learn more about current innovations in the yachting industry, share more about the DISCOVERY Programme and highlight its citizen science initiatives, and connect with both current and future industry partners.
