SeaKeepers Attend the Southhampton International Boat Show
- September 18 – 27, 2026
- Southampton, Hampshire
Event Overview
From September 18–27, 2026, The International SeaKeepers Society UK Chapter attended the Southampton International Boat Show, where we hosted the SeaKeepers Ocean Hub in the New Wave Hall. Across the ten-day show, we brought together scientific partners from both the local and global conservation community to highlight how the boating community can play a part in marine discovery and ocean conservation. The Partners that joined us included Seal Research Trust, Seabed 2030, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, The Wildlife Trusts and FarSounder. Over 800 people came to speak with the SeaKeepers team throughout the show, learning more about the DISCOVERY Programme, Citizen Science and the different ways vessels can support marine research. It was also great to see plenty of familiar faces throughout the event, including SeaKeepers Ambassador Mike Golding and Ocean Explorer James Ketchell.
The Ocean Hub also gave SeaKeepers the opportunity to bring our partners together for the panel “Turn Your Time At Sea Into A Voyage Of DISCOVERY,” where representatives from across the Hub discussed their work and how boaters can contribute directly to scientific research while out on the water. SeaKeepers also supported marina partner TransEurope Marinas during their talk exploring the role marinas can play in supporting ocean science and conservation. A huge thank you to all of our partners who joined us throughout the show and helped make the Ocean Hub such a strong platform for collaboration, conversation and Citizen Science. The Southampton International Boat Show was a great opportunity to strengthen existing partnerships, build new connections across the marine industry and show just how much interest there is in getting the boating community more involved in ocean research.
