Dive Against Debris

Hog Heaven Wreck, Fort Lauderdale

On July 11th, 2021, SeaKeepers partnered again with SeaExperience to Dive Against Debris at the Hog Heaven wreck in Fort Lauderdale. Our wonderful DISCOVERY Yacht partner Rick Thomas and his crew took 8 volunteers to this spot teeming with fish and we got to spend our morning cleaning up fishing wire, ropes, and cargo straps from 70 feet under the sea.

In total, 8 volunteers we collected 31 pounds of trash from the wreck and had a wonderful time spotting beautiful wildlife, including a sea turtle that swam by. We are so grateful to be able to partner with Sea Experience and Rick, thank you both for making this trip possible for our 8 participants. We look forward to diving more frequently with you all, and cleaning our ocean to the best of our ability!
