Our organization relies on the generosity of people just like you to help ensure the health of our oceans. Contributions directly impact programming that educates and empowers the yachting community and our local communities to become aware of the issues our oceans face, while taking an active role in helping to develop solutions through exploration, scientific research, education, and outreach. The International SeaKeepers Society is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization (EIN# 58-2385869). Donations to The International SeaKeepers Society are tax-deductible to the extent of the law.
Donations above $50 qualify for joining the annual membership program, and supporters will receive some great items and event benefits while helping to support our cause. Membership levels can be found here. Suggested categories of giving correspond to our annual membership levels. All you have to do is check the box on the submission form to recognize your donation as a membership and you will be automatically signed up! If you prefer to provide support with a contribution only, then leave this box unchecked, or you can fill in another amount using the “other” option.
Scientist-led expeditions provide yacht owners, guests, and crew the opportunity to participate in ongoing research while engaging with influential, well-established marine scientists. The largest expense and frequent limiting factor in ocean research is access to an at-sea research platform. Using member yachts, SeaKeepers works with universities, marine institutions, NGOs and experts in the marine science and oceanography fields to promote and facilitate groundbreaking research.
Citizen science expeditions offer an opportunity for vessel owners to get involved in smaller-scale marine research initiatives. These expeditions do not require scientists to be aboard, but they permit vessel owners and crew to participate in independent activities such as the S.A.R.A.H. Initiative, water testing, deploying oceanographic instruments, and/or specimen and data collection to assist in on-going research with program partners.
SeaKeepers outreach events focus on marine wildlife, plastic pollution, sustainability practices, and more. DISCOVERY Yachts provide an exceptional opportunity for students to witness marine science research first-hand in a “floating classroom” experience. Scientists and educators participate in field trips on the water to provide an in-depth learning encounter for students. Participants range from local schools to national organizations.
