Junior SeaKeepers 2025-26 Workshop 8: Presenting Scientific Research

On April 8th, 2026, The International SeaKeepers Society hosted the eighth workshop experience of the Junior SeaKeepers 2025-26 cohort. This workshop included guidelines and tips for their final research project presentations in June. As a part of their final research projects, our students are focusing on local conservation topics regarding issues like marine debris, coral bleaching, waterway dredging, and more. Many of these research questions will have our students collecting data locally, while some others will be collecting information from publicly available reports, maps, and partner non-profit organizations. These differences in data mean that each project will have different visual data to highlight. It also means that they will need to figure out the best “story” to tell when presenting their data to give their audience the best overall “big picture” idea of their work and the problem it addresses. With their final project presentations being due in about one month, this was a great opportunity for each student/group to clarify how best they can frame the story, highlight the important data, ask questions, and improve their projects overall before their final presentations.
