Overview
On March 19th, 2022, SeaKeepers facilitated another cleanup at Hobie Beach in collaboration with Miami-Dade County Parks. While SeaKeepers was unable to host the group, our amazing volunteer community took charge and worked with Miami-Dade County to independently clean the area.
Thirty-five volunteers removed trash across Hobie Beach, and 13 participated in Citizen Science documented the litter collected through CleanSwell, an application run by the Ocean Conservancy. Through the CleanSwell app, over 2,400 individual items were removed and reported, which contributed to a long-term assessment of this location.
