Jack was born in North Carolina but spent most of his younger years in northern Virginia, where his family and high school teachers encouraged him to pursue his dream of marine biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. There, he graduated with Honors in Marine Biology and a minor in Psychology, as well as worked on a global review of threats affecting humpback whales and an undergraduate thesis on local saltmarsh species. Jack attended the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School where he graduated with a Master’s in Professional Science. While there he worked extensively with the University’s Shark Research and Conservation Program, as well as the Field School as head of the Education and Outreach team. These experiences led Jack to join the Seakeepers as an Education and Outreach Associate.
