Flotilla to COP30
Project Overview:
Flotilla4Change is seeking sailing vessels to join a transatlantic journey to COP30 in Belém, Brazil, October–December 2025. The project supports sustainable travel for activists, scientists, and delegates—particularly those from the Global South. Vessels should have capacity for 6–40 berths. Eight boats are already committed; the goal is 42. Stops include Western Europe, Tenerife, and Cape Verde. The flotilla will arrive in Brazil in early November, with return travel arranged by boat owners. Floating hotels are welcome due to limited accommodation in Belém.

Background:
Flotilla4Change is a nonprofit facilitation initiative formed to support activist-led transoceanic travel to COP30. It is managed by a coalition of experienced project coordinators, COP veterans, ocean travel providers, and Indigenous rights advocates.
Mission:
The mission of this project is to support Indigenous Earth Defenders and promote sustainable travel by organizing a transatlantic flotilla to COP30. The project fosters intercontinental connection, equity in representation, and transformative models for activism and mobility.
Applications:
This project demonstrates sustainable transoceanic travel, supports frontline communities’ participation in global climate negotiations, and fosters collaborative networks for activism, research, and cultural exchange. A digital platform will link vessels with delegates, and funding aims to empower marginalized voices.
