Water And Sediment Sampling

On August 6th, 2019, The International SeaKeepers Society joined Miami Waterkeeper, University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences and Beta Analytic aboard D/Y Nomad to take water and sediment samples from 18 sites in Biscayne Bay. This was done with the purpose of linking biological and isotopic tracers to monitor wastewaters in Biscayne Bay. In doing so we can better understand where the major sources of wastewater are entering the bay as well as create a baseline with which to evaluate the impact remediation efforts have on water quality.
