On May 23rd, 2021, we had the privilege of taking some of Palmer Trinity’s 10th and 11th graders out for a cleanup at the beautiful Historic Virginia Key Beach, where we focused on discussing ways we all can lead more sustainable lives, as well as hunting for microplastics! We learned that microplastics are defined as pieces of plastic smaller than 5 millimeters, and we found a lot of them - we didn’t even have to go down to the beach to start finding them!

Together 17 volunteers collected 7 bags of trash for a total of 44 pounds.Thank you all for spending your beautiful morning with us and helping us clean up our lovely beaches. We hope to see you all at future cleanups!
