Marine Habitat Survey

DISCOVERY Yacht Shredder
September 27, 2017

On September 27th, 2017, The International SeaKeepers Society spent the day with Miami Waterkeeper aboard D/Y Shredder of Fleet Miami. The group snorkeled at various sites in Biscayne Bay while a Miami Waterkeeper representative identified local species of marine organisms and monitored the health of the local habitats.
A photographer documented marine benthic habitats such as corals, seagrass beds, and mangroves. Seagrass samples were collected for further analysis and the marine habitat was visually surveyed for hurricane impacts.

A special thanks to Crandon Park Marina for serving as meeting place for the vessel.
