Overview

SeaKeepers Asia was proud to be part of the dynamic marine conservation community at the ADEX Ocean Festival 2025, held this April in Singapore. This year’s exhibition was dedicated to Cephalopods . As Asia’s largest and longest-running dive show, ADEX brought together a vibrant mix of ocean advocates, divers, scientists, and conservationists.

Representing SeaKeepers Asia, we took part both as an exhibitor with our own booth and as members of the NParks Friends of the Marine Park community. This dual role enabled us to engage a broad spectrum of attendees, share our mission, and ignite meaningful conversations that led to exciting new collaborations.

Diving Into Action: Citizen Science on Kapas Island

A key focus for us at ADEX 2025 was connecting directly with the passionate diving community. Divers have long been among our most dedicated ocean stewards, and this year we invited them to go a step further by joining our upcoming Kapas Island Habitat Survey as citizen science divers.

Led by six scientists from Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, this initiative empowers divers to contribute to vital conservation and monitoring work—while exploring one of Southeast Asia’s most stunning marine ecosystems.

Building Bridges for Conservation

ADEX also provided a valuable platform to connect with other conservation organisations, eco-tourism groups, and grassroots communities. These exchanges sparked fresh ideas for collaborative projects, joint outreach initiatives, and cross-border conservation efforts.

Educating the Next Wave of SeaKeepers

At the heart of our mission is education—and ADEX opened new doors to grow our outreach. We engaged with vessel owners interested in joining our network of Discovery Yachts—private vessels that support SeaKeepers programs and educational activities at sea.

We also connected with families and youth organisations to promote the International Junior SeaKeepers Programme (IJSP), which offers hands-on marine science experiences to empower the next generation of ocean leaders. The enthusiastic response reaffirmed our commitment to expanding the program in 2025 with new participants and partners.

Charting the Course Ahead

Our presence at ADEX 2025 reaffirmed the value of showing up—of being present where the ocean community comes together to share, learn, and act. Whether through citizen science, education, or collaboration, SeaKeepers Asia remains dedicated to strengthening a vibrant, connected network of ocean advocates across the region.
