Overview

On May 17, 2025, The International SeaKeepers Society attended the crew allocation event for the Clipper Round the World Race. Founded by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the first solo nonstop circumnavigator, the Clipper Race began in 1996. Since then, over 6,000 crew from 60+ nations have participated in this global challenge. On Saturday over 400 Race Crew from across the globe gathered in Portsmouth, as they were allocated the teams they will race across the world with. Skippers and First Mate pairings were announced for the first time, and they met the crew they would call their team for the upcoming circumnavigation.

The International SeaKeepers Society attended the Clipper Round the World Race crew allocation event to meet this remarkable international sailing community interested in ocean research and conservation and to share some of the opportunities for SeaKeepers Citizen Science as they raced around the world.
