Belen Jesuit Preparatory School Volunteer Fair
Miami, Florida
September 27, 2023
Overview
On Wednesday, September 27th, The International SeaKeepers Society’s Education Manager and Community Engagement Associate attended the volunteer fair at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School. Belen Jesuit Preparatory School is an all-male Catholic school that was founded in Havana, Cuba in 1854 and reestablished in Miami in 1961. Belen’s Christian Service Office works to form their students into disciples of Christ by engaging in community service and volunteerism. SeaKeepers was one of many organizations present at the volunteer fair, and the 9th and 10th-grade students at Belen were encouraged to approach as many organizations as they wanted and learn more about their missions and volunteer opportunities. We were able to speak to many of the 450 students that attended the fair and advise them of our coastal cleanup opportunities and provide them with resources to join us. We are thankful to Belen Jesuit Preparatory School for allowing us the opportunity to have a presence at their volunteer fair and we hope to see their students at our future coastal cleanups!
