Corporate Cleanup

Overview

On Saturday, May 21, 2022, SeaKeepers hosted a cleanup at Historic Virginia Key Beach for Pullman Miami Airport Hotel’s staff and families. Participants cleaned trash all along the coastline and inside the park to collect two bags totaling 53 pounds of trash.

In addition to a large number of bottle caps, straws, and food wrappers found, volunteers retrieved a large channel marker and various other signs that has fallen and washed up on the beach. Furthermore, many volunteers noticed three Aplysia dactylomela or spotted sea hares, that had washed up along the beach, though the cause of this is unknown.
