Düsseldorf International Boat Show
Düsseldorf, Germany
January 20 - 28, 2024
Overview
During January 20th-28th, 2024, The International SeaKeepers Society kicked off the new year by attending the 55th Düsseldorf International Boat Show, better known as boot Düsseldorf. The show hosted more than 1,500 exhibitors from 67 countries. While touring some of the 16 exhibition halls, SeaKeepers took the opportunity to visit the "Love Your Ocean" exhibition and meet with Sharkproject, Plastic Fisherman & MareMundi amongst many other ocean conservation initiatives.
While in Düsseldorf, Pantaenius UK and the Family Baum invited us to attend an evening of short movies about the vulnerability of our oceans and the people who strive to protect them. We were joined by film director Greg Reitman who flew in from the West Coast for the evening and we enjoyed spending a wonderful evening together with the Pantaenius global team. This was the first visit for SeaKeepers to boot Düsseldorf and we look forward to having an even greater presence next year.
Outing Goal
The International SeaKeepers Society attended the event to promote oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community in Europe. Providing educational resources and hands-on marine science experiences to students is the primary focus for ensuring the future wellbeing of our planet. SeaKeepers enables the yachting community to take full advantage of their unique potential to advance marine sciences and raise awareness about global ocean issues.
