Overview
On March 22, 2024, The International SeaKeepers Society attended the Inspire Initiative luncheon during the Palm Beach International Boat Show. This movement was created by USSA President, Kitty McGowan to celebrate, empower, showcase and support women of the yachting industry. It was a wonderful afternoon celebrating the many talented women who we work with every day and an opportunity to acknowledge those who have broken barriers, overcome obstacles and led the way to success. The highlight of the event was a fascinating panel discussion which included Loretta Butler-Turner - Distinguished Political & Business Leader, 1st Deputy Leader of the Opposition in The Bahamian Government. Lisa Maddox - Former Intelligence Officer, Owner of Family History Intelligence and National Security Expert. Wendy Meade - Co-founder of YachtSalesInternational.com, Angeli Millan television producer, writer and actor. Stephanie J. Toothaker, Esq. Chairwoman & Chief Strategist TOOTHAKER.org, Lisa Scott-Founds President and CEO of Winterfest, Inc. and Ashley Vertuno Chief Executive Officer HCA Florida JFK North Hospital. The moderator was Denison Yachting’s very own Bob Denison who led the discussions. The Inspire Initiative partnered with Pace, an organization that provides girls and young women with an opportunity for a better future through education, counselling, training, and advocacy.
Outing Goal
The International SeaKeepers Society attended USSA's Inspire Initiative with the purpose to share our mission of oceanographic research, conservation, and education through direct involvement with the yachting community. Providing educational resources and hands-on marine science experiences to students is the primary focus for ensuring the future wellbeing of our planet. SeaKeepers enables the yachting community to take full advantage of their unique potential to advance marine sciences and raise awareness about global ocean issues.
