In December 2021, students in the Junior SeaKeepers Program at Cushman High School participated in a workshop focused on the essentials of science communication, led by Program Associate Maggie Winchester.

Students learned about the importance of properly communicating science and learned techniques for effective communication. These techniques will be put into use next month, when the Junior SeaKeepers work on an outreach project explaining a scientific topic of their choice.

The Junior SeaKeepers Program is a 6-month training program for high school students interested in marine science, research, and conservation. To learn more about the program and how to apply for the 2022-2023 cycle, contact [email protected].
