In November 2021, students in the Junior SeaKeepers Program at Cushman High School participated in a workshop focused on introducing the scientific method, led by Program Associate Maggie Winchester.

Students walked through the different steps of the scientific method using a local example of Biscayne Bay. The workshop wrapped up by discussing how to read scientific literature, and students worked through a virtual escape room to enhance learning.

The Junior SeaKeepers Program is a 6-month training program for high school students interested in marine science, research, and conservation. To learn more about the program and how to apply for the 2022-2023 cycle, contact [email protected].
