On November 15th, 2020 SeaKeepers hosted a combined kayak and beach cleanup at Morningside Park. Eighteen volunteers attended, and between those on land and those at sea we collected 156 lbs of trash! A wide variety of items were collected, including plastic and glass bottles, lots of small plastic pieces, car parts, and even a couch cushion. All trash removed was recorded through the "Clean Swell" application as part of Ocean Conservancy's ongoing efforts to document and remove as much ocean litter as possible.

With this cleanup, SeaKeepers has removed 2834 pounds of trash across multiple beaches since July 2019! Given the abundance of trash at this location, we will be returning to Morningside for another beach and kayak cleanup soon. Thank you to all of our volunteers!
