Monthly Cleanup

Overview

On Saturday, March 26, 2022, SeaKeepers hosted a group to clean Morningside Park, one of our favorite spots to bring volunteers for beach cleanups. The weekend brought 55 volunteers for our combined beach cleanup and a yoga class taught by our collaborators at Awareness Into Action. We love partnering with this social impact organization that provides positive responses to relevant issues in our Miami community and are so happy to share them with our volunteers. Many volunteers were able to support Awareness Into Action by purchasing fun graphic tees championing a SeaKeepers favorite - mangroves!

When volunteers finished yoga, they paddled and kayaked to the nearby Picnic Islands and dispersed over the rest of the park to collect trash. We had interesting finds like giant slabs of styrofoam and plastic milk crates.

As always, we want to thank our partner Awareness Into Action. We enjoy sharing our space with this organization, which sets the tone for our cleanups. Thank you again to all our volunteers who make every cleanup so special and for making our program possible. Without you, the world wouldn’t be as clean.
