Things change and so too the format for The International SeaKeepers Society Asia Educational Outreach Programme has been adapted to suit the Covid 19 precautions placed on schools in Singapore.Previously, our subject matter experts acting as facilitators would provide live lectures and learning journeys to the participating students either in the school or on-board yachts which became floating classrooms.
Through online learning and activities which are becoming the norm, a “plug and play” lesson plan has been developed for easy application by the school’s teachers whilst still focusing on marine science and conservation to raise awareness about global ocean issues. This was put to the test and used as a learning opportunity during the Nan Hua High School, Assembly programme which saw a participation covering the whole student body of 1500 students.
