SeaKeepers South Pacific Attends the Australia Fiji Rendezvous
Port Denarau, Fiji
August 22-24, 2024
Overview
From the 22nd to 24th of August, Melissa White, Director of South Pacific for the International SeaKeepers Society, attended the Australia/Fiji Rendezvous. The event, organized by Superyacht Australia, took place at Port Denarau Marina in Port Denarau, Fiji. This event serves as a platform for Australians in the yachting industry to inform yachts currently in Fiji about their cruising options, refit and maintenance facilities, and service providers as they continue their journey west in the South Pacific. Superyacht Australia, a valued partner of SeaKeepers, has enabled us to participate and promote our science programs to the vessels at the rendezvous. The event started with a morning tea and expo where SeaKeepers had a booth set up with information on display for visiting yachts which then was followed by a captain’s lunch. Members from Superyacht Australia were taken to Bula Coffee for a tour and learned how they are supporting women from local villages. A crew networking event was held where local Fijian made products were on display and performances were held by the local Vou Dance Group. This was a great opportunity to connect with all crew from the vessels. This event also offers an excellent opportunity to connect with industry professionals in Fiji and strengthen the partnerships formed within the Australian industry.
